Nursing

Nowadays, nursing practice should not be framed in manuals and protocols that mask a routine and mechanized work, but should tend to associate the work with the socio-historical framework in which the profession is practiced, placing itself in its context and looking into the future. In the last decades, hospitals and clinics have developed their activities in a context characterized by a strong pressure from the community in terms of obtaining adequate care, with a notorious increase in the demand for services in quality and quantity. These new demands must be met to a large extent by nurses, so it is necessary to abandon the linear, static, stable and orderly view of the services offered and seek a new training to work in situations of disorder and constant change. This is perhaps one of the least recognized professions, but one in which people give their all as human beings, and are very close to essential aspects of life. Understanding the value of their role, we have helped many nurses to develop and grow professionally, which is a source of pride for each one of us who participated in their graduation work, either by advising, helping to correct, revising, suggesting questions for data collection instruments, etc.
